Dear Friends of QVCOG:
Although we were unable to hold our 2020 Annual Dinner, the Quaker Valley Council of Governments 2020 “Adapt” Dinner occurred on October 21, 2020. With the COVID-19 pandemic serving as a backdrop, we modified our definition of what it means to come together as the QVCOG community held an online event with guests enjoying meals from local eateries at home. Our thanks to our Keynote Speaker, Jon Delano, KDKA-TV Money and Politics Editor for providing insight and perspective in the frenetic days just before the 2020 Presidential election. Additionally, Colonel Colby Short from the US Army Corps, operator of our own Emsworth Lock and Dam, gave our event true intergovernmental context--everyday amidst our boroughs and townships is a network of local, state and federal functions occurring simultaneously. We are extremely grateful to our sponsors who helped us exceed our expectations for fundraising, with special thanks to ALCOSAN and the Gateway Engineers, our Gold Sponsors. Be sure to visit our “Virtual Lobby” to see videos about the Gold Sponsors, as we showcase the expertise and services of our sponsors. This year's “Lobby Passport” added fun and interest to our event and made a tangible improvement to our program. Regardless of whether our future annual gatherings occur in person or virtually, we will be keeping this new tradition. We thank our Managers & Secretaries Committee, who represented the staff and employees of our members. By sharing a bit of yourselves, our guests got to know the heart of our communities. Lastly, thank you to everyone who contributed to the 50/50 drawing which raised $329.90 for the North Boro’s Meals on Wheels. Again, thank you to all who helped to make our event a success! You are truly appreciated. Please visit our website to see highlights and videos from the event. Mark your calendars for the 2021 Annual Dinner: October 20, 2021.
