The Quaker Valley Council of Government (QVCOG) Board of Directors has recommended that the members of the QVCOG adopt Volunteer Firefighter and EMS Tax Rebate programs pursuant to Commonwealth of PA Act 172 of 2016. The Act allows for municipalities to voluntarily exercise the option to form such a program and to structure the rebate program.
QVCOG convened the Managers & Secretaries Committee to craft a set of recommendations. Additionally, the Fire Chiefs of area departments were consulted in a roundtable discussion on July 10, 2017. The recommendation is based upon research conducted by the committee, the input of the the chiefs, and tax administration consideration. The complete recommendation is found here.
