  • August 21, 2019 - Multi-Municipal Multi-Modal- Emsworth Borough (171 Center Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA  15202).  Connecting communities through a range of transporation options is the focus of this program.  Walkers, bikers, commuters, exercisers, transit-users and others connect through our communities.  What are the issue they confront?  What alternatives exist to improve mobility, safety, convenience?  What is the best way to connect people to amenitities without necessitating the use of the car?  What cooperation must occur  to maximize the pros of our corridor and minimize the cons?

  • September 18, 2019 - Placemaking and Attracting Investment - Bellevue Borough (537 Bayne Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15202).  What are the tangible and intangible qualities that make an area unique and a magnet for private and public investment?  What are the unique characteristics of our 65 Corridor communities that make it a location of choice--culturally, economically,  and environmentally? How do we build on our assets and overcome our weaknesses?

  • September 25, 2019 - Route 65 Roadway Safety - Leetsdale Borough (373 Beaver Street, Leetsdale, PA 15056)- In this session we turn our attention to the highway itself and its relationship with our communities.  Speeding, accidents, and crime are often a fact of life along major roadways and this places demands on local resources like emergency services.  Residents, businesses and commuters rely on Rt. 65, but traffic and safety impact its utility to them.  At this session learn what public safety professionals experience in dealing wih a major transportation corridor in their communities, everything from pedestrian safety to GPS location errors.  Further we will learn about what activities are underway to protect the public.  Lastly, attendees will be asked to provide input on your concerns about the corridor, to begin to form a common voice in interactions with other levels of government.

  • October 23, 2019 - Land Use and Community Development in the Corridor - Avalon Borough (640 California Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15202).  The process of regulating land uses contributes to the effort to promote desirable social, environmental, and economic outcomes and more efficient use of resources.  The Route 65 corridor is home to some unique and special places!  How do local governments develop and coordinate land use and transporation policy and shape development patterns in the most positive way for people who live in the corridor?
