QVCOG appoints new Executive Director

5/6/2021

For Immediate Release
May 6, 2021

Quaker Valley Council of Governments (QVCOG) announces the appointment of a new Executive Director.  Mr. Patrick M. Conners was appointed as the next Executive Director at a special meeting on May 5, 2021.

Conners currently serves as the Assistant to the Township Manager in South Strabane Township in Washington County.  He is familiar with the QVCOG and our communities, having previously served as the Assistant to the Manager in Edgeworth Borough, a member of the QVCOG.

“I am excited to build on my past familiarity with QVCOG and getting to know each of the communities better,” said Conners. “Having worked previously in the region, I am aware of the potential of our communities working together.  I am anxious to build on what we worked on when I was with Edgeworth.”

Conners has a Master’s Degree in Public and Nonprofit Management from the University of Pittsburgh and was also a Local Government Academy Municipal Intern for North Fayette Township in 2015.

Conners received a 9-0 affirmative vote from the QVCOG Board of Directors.  “Patrick was the lead candidate given his knowledge of the region and ability to take our programs to the next level.  We are pleased to have one of our own come back to help us continue the progress of the QVCOG.” said QVCOG President Jean-Sebastien Valois, a Supervisor for Kilbuck Township.

Conners will start on May 26, 2021.  He takes over for Susan G. Hockenberry who has served since 2016 and is leaving to start a coaching and consulting practice.

Quaker Valley Council of Governments serves 15 municipalities along the Rt 65 corridor and facilitates multi-municipal efforts and implements efficient, cost-effective programs on behalf of its members.
