Gaming Economic development & tourism fund (GEDTF) Program
Gaming Economic Development Tourism Fund (GEDTF) grants allow municipalities, authorities, councils of government (COGs), non-profit and for-profit businesses to carry out important economic development for current and future use. Administered by the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County (RAAC), these grants provide financial assistance to entities to facilitate economic development projects in Allegheny County.
2023 applications will be accepted beginning Friday, September 1, 2023 through Friday, September 22, 2023. Additional details for this cycle will, including the Program Guidelines, will be provided in the coming weeks (August 2023).
The QVCOG has successfully applied for and received a total of four GEDTF grants for its member communities. Summaries of each project can be found below.
2022 Awarded Projects
Municipal Public Works Infrastructure Improvement Project - Sewickley Heights Borough - $190,000
This project includes the installation of 4 new catch basins and 220 linear feet of storm pipe. Additionally, the project will include the reconstruction of 1,235 square yards of driveway and buffer yard. The project seeks to resolve sedimentation from degraded asphalt surface and improve surface to subsurface drainage to mitigate future impacts from heavy precipitation events.
Municipal Stormwater Improvement Project - Leet Township - $100,000
This project will reconstruct a failed stormwater management facility in the Old Sewickley Highlands neighborhood.
Municipal Park Improvements - Leet Township - $300,000
This project will include the restoration of the existing basketball court and deck hockey court at the Township facility including replacement of the surfacing, new fencing, new playground equipment, and construction of a War Memorial.
2021 Awarded Projects
Municipal Building Renovation Project - Ben Avon Borough - $200,000
The scope of this project includes the abatement of 2,500 sf of asbestos underlayment in the roof, the removal of lead-based paint at 15 windows, the replacement of 2,500 sf of slate roof, the replacement of 1 overhead door, and the replacement of 15 windows, including lintels, interior and exterior trim.
