About Leadership Development Initiative the Leadership Development Initiative (LDI) XXXII, a program under Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. is dedicated to developing civic leaders and fostering regional collaboration. As part of their commitment to strengthening Pittsburgh communities, they are partnering with the Manchester Citizens Corporation (MCC) to explore the potential impacts of lowering Pennsylvania State Route 65 (PA-65) and reconnecting the Manchester and Chateau neighborhoods. PA-65 has long served as a critical transportation corridor for the Quaker Valley. However, in the Manchester and Chateau neighborhoods, the highway has physically divided communities, limiting connectivity, economic development, and pedestrian access. Through their work with MCC, they aim to better understand how changes to this corridor could affect not only Manchester and Chateau but also the broader corridor. LDI recognizes that PA-65 plays an essential role in the daily lives of residents, businesses, and commuters throughout the region. As they examine potential solutions to enhance community connectivity in Manchester and Chateau, they also want to engage with stakeholders along the PA-65 corridor to ensure that any proposed changes consider regional mobility, economic impact, and quality of life. QVCOG community voices and perspectives are vital to this conversation. LDI looks forward to learning from residents, business owners, and community leaders—about how PA-65 influences their community and what considerations are most important for the future of this corridor. LDI invites interested parties to join them in shaping this dialogue and ensuring that any changes support the needs of all communities along PA-65.
